Our goal as a PTF is to bring a ministry of fun and fellowship into our school.  Fellowship with our families, our staff, and our students will set our PTF apart from most other programs at other schools.
We believe that the greater the connection between families, the greater connection will be between home and school.

2017-2018 PTF Letter

Some of the upcoming events include:

KCS approved clothing Swap Shop ~ All day August 7th you may drop off any gently used KCS approved clothing and “shopping day” will be August 8th from 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.  You do not have to donate in order to shop for clothing.  There is NO COST for shopping!

Teacher Birthday Luncheon ~ We will provide a nice themed lunch for those who have celebrated their birthdays in the last quarter.  These will be held in September, December, February and May.

Donuts with Dad 10/3/2017 and Morning with Mom 4/03/2018 (7:00-8:00 a.m.~ We will gather twice a year (fall for fathers/spring for mothers) and enjoy pastries and juice with our kids.  This is a great time of fellowship for our families that don’t get to participate often as it is early in the morning before school begins.  We partner with the book fair as well so that you can take the kids shopping after breakfast.

Skate parties ~ Hot Skates of Avon has offered to do a couple of different skate nights for us this year.  Families and friends are invited to attend and just have fun together!

BoxTop Competitions ~ These competitions are an easy way for the PTF to earn money to support the different activities that we sponsor each year.  We ask that families clip (neatly around the edges) the BoxTops off of products that they already purchase and bring them in for us to do the rest.  We will have 2 competitions again this year one in October  and one in February where we challenge the classrooms to compete for an ice cream party for the class and a meal for the teacher by bringing in the most BoxTops .  People may also bring in their BoxTops in increments of 25 during the other months to enter a drawing to win free BoxTops items.  Our BoxTops competitions have been our largest money maker every year and no one needs to buy anything other than the groceries that they already buy!

KCS Nights Out ~ Several area businesses offer a program where we can partake in their food or services and PTF will receive a portion of the profit earned during these events.  We pay nothing for this, and it is a great way for our families to get together to chat with other parents and for the kids to get to see their friends outside of school.  We try to schedule them once a month and do our best to work around the school schedule.

Parents Night Out ~ We also offer a parent’s night out twice a year at Flip Zone where parents can take a night to themselves and drop their kids off to have fun!  They offer pizza, a movie and lots of play time from 5-10 pm.  We try to schedule these in November for Christmas shopping and February for Valentine’s Day.

Candy Grams ~ We offer parents grandparents and friends the chance to send their students a candy gram for Valentine’s Day.  PTF does all of the preparation and delivering for this event.  Workdays will be February 9th and 10th with lunch/snacks provided and we will deliver the candy grams to the classrooms after drop-off on February 14th.

Student Encouragement ~ Create a positive environment for the students to start out testing week.  A bible verse as well as an encouraging note to go along with a special treat for all of the students.  We will have a workday at the beginning of February to assemble these so that they are ready for the first testing week which is February 27th for ISTEP this year grades 3-8.  1st and 2nd grade will be doing Terra Nova testing.

Staff Appreciation Week ~ All week long we shower the entire school staff with treats, gifts and food as we celebrate them and how special they are to our kids and the ministry of our school.  We are looking at April 10th-14th for this event.

Spelling Bee judges luncheon We will provide lunch for our spelling bee helpers.  It usually includes soup, salad, fruit, veggies and bread.

School events we may be providing help for if available:

Learning Fair (possibly March or April) ~ Students and families at KCS will get together one night to display what they have learned during the school year.

Grandparents Day ~ KCS invites grandparents of our elementary age students in to have a fun day with them.  They will get to watch a program done by our students, have snacks with grandparents and go into the students classroom to do an activity or craft.  Grandparents Day this year at Kingsway is Friday, September 29th.

Preview Day ~ KCS will host preview days for potential incoming families Friday November 11th from 7-9 pm, Saturday February 4th from 2-4 pm and Thursday May 11th 7-9 pm.  We would ask that if you/your family is available that you would please consider coming to any or all of these to create a friendly environment and conversation with potential families.
