Fourth grade is the year that students begin making the transition from elementary to intermediate school. At this age our students are beginning to become more independent learners. Research becomes a key component of the fourth grade curriculum. Our students participate in many unique and exciting learning opportunities such as:
- A scientific research project for the school’s Science Fair.
- As part of a year long study of Indiana we travel to downtown Indianapolis to experience our GREAT state as "tourists".
- In the spring, we jump in a time capsule (the KCS bus) and are transported back in time to 1892 to experience a typical school day. During our visit we are taught by a local school marm who teaches us to cipher, practice our penmanship on a chalkboard and participate in an elocution contest.
